TRISTAN'S POEM
After two failed attempts
Hematomas and such
We waited and watched
You were wanted so much.
Your mom watched her diet
Got plenty of rest
We knew with this care
That you'd be the best.
But still the uncertainty
That state we all hated
Loomed in the air
As we watched and we we waited.
Then you came early
With tubes everywhere
Helping you breathe
You even had hair!
You were a fighter
Right from day one
Your parents were thrilled
With their newborn son.
Your strong personality
Came through from the start
To grasp all our love
And capture each heart.
We waited and watched
At your pictures we gazed
As your confident spirit
Left us amazed.
Although I was ill
And I had not met you
I felt you close by
As your spirit came through.
You've taught us of courage
And how to endure
As life moves along
You will teach us much more.
Plenty of people
Are waiting to tend you
And family love
They are ready to send you.
The future looks bright
Much fun without end
As you meet little Tamsin
Your cousin and friend.
So upward and onward
Our brave little man
We're so overjoyed
That you're part of the clan.
You're growing and learning
And doing so great
And one thing is sure
You were well worth the wait!
