100 Ways To Nurture Yourself

This week is a very busy week for me, so the schedule for the blog will be a little bit different. I recently found an article entitled "100 Ways To Nurture Yourself" from a blog called Demanding Joy. There are so many good ideas in this list. I'll be sharing a few with you each day this week, if that's ok. These ways of nurturing yourself will help those going through their cancer journeys, as well as survivors who are finished with their treatments. I hope you enjoy these - please make sure to act on at least one of ways to nurture yourself this week.

Today, let's focus on doing things for yourself...

1. Put a post-it on your mirror that says, “You look beautiful!” – and then accept the compliment every time you look at yourself. (This might be hard right now - you are getting used to your new normal, but you ARE beautiful!)

2. Take a hot bath. – With bubbles. (This is super important! Can you say "Major stress relief?!"

3. Laugh. – Sometimes you just need a good laugh to lift your spirits.

4. Sing loudly. – In the shower and the car and anywhere else you like. With reckless abandon. (My son, Michael, used to do this when he lived at home. I would hear him singing at the top of his lungs in the shower. I'm sure it made him feel great, but it also made me laugh out loud. It helped both of us!)

5. Be silly every now and again. – We take ourselves entirely too seriously. Let go. Be spontaneous and outrageous!

**A quick reminder: THIS THURSDAY is our support meeting. It's a GIRLS NIGHT OUT, so make sure you come with your sisters, daughters, mothers, friends, neighbors, etc. We are having an educational BREAST CANCER AWARENESS night. Bring any women you care about. We'd love to have all of you show up. 3301 N University Avenue, Provo, @ 7:00pm. See you there!
